Yoga, Zumba, & Belly Dancing

Ugh. I was so lethargic today- I don't know what's going on. Maybe there's a low pressure or something, but even after more than eight hours of great sleep I still felt so sleepy!

Instead of my belly dancing class I usually have in the afternoons, I went to yoga. Then I took a nap!

Before yoga my tummy was still a little hungry so I had an ounce of cheese to hold me through.

Then after yoga + my almost two hour nap (!) I had a bown of 1/2 cup greek yogurt, a banana, and 1 cup of Kashi Good Friends cereal. So good! The texture is amazing, and so is the flavor.

Smooth, crunchy, and banana texture...

Even after my nap I STILL felt so tired! I seriously considered skipping Zumba, something I don't take lightly. I came to the conclusion that I have never regretted going to class no matter how I have felt, so I decided to give it a go.

AWESOME IDEA. They moved class back up into the mirrored room, which is always more fun, and class felt so great. I sweated a ton and felt so much better!

{and I got to wear my new tank top- wearing lace to class makes me feel ultra confident!}

I packed myself a dinner for after class. Before, I wasn't eating much after exercising, but after researching and reading I realized that the body needs food to refuel, build muscle, etc, etc.. SO! I made a peanut butter and jam sandwich. Yum yum.

here's a close-up of the jammy goodness :)

I studied Spanish and finished that homework before belly dancing class, which was fun as always!

Valentine's Day {heart}

A lot of single people I know don't like Valentine's day- but I truly don't mind it! Heck, one more day for love in the world is alright with me. Woot.

...AND it meant Zumba wasn't crazy busy for once! There were enough people to make it fun, but not too many to make it crowded.

For another snack a couple hours before class I had bread with PB and a banana..

Here's my V-day inspired Zumba outfit!

Class was HARD! All the songs were super-duper hard, but so much fun! I left drenched and happy. When I got back I had a small dinner to recover: cereal, skim milk, and another banana.

Hooray for Coffee!

After a restless night last night, coffee was definitely made a part of my breakfast and afternoon.

I'm loving my Kashi Good Friends cereal with banana and honey and skim milk for breakfast lately. This brings me to about 350 kcal, so I tack on a small 1/2 tbs peanut butter so I'm not starved by lunch.

For lunch I had (and consumed before photographing sorry!) an almond butter and honey sandwich with an apple. Almond butter rocks! The flavor is soo yummy that you don't need a ton to taste it.

After yoga I finished up my coffee from this morning that I stuck in the fridge with some milk and a tsp sugar. Iced Coffee!

Oh yeah, and goggle lines DO NOT go away for such a long time!! Here is my frowny face because of it. See the red line on my forehead?? Honors Chem for the win.

No-bake cookie experiment

note I said experiment, not necessarily success.

Here's what I was trying to make.

Here's what I made:
1/4 cup dry oats
1/4 cup Kashi cereal
1/4 cup whole wheat flour
2 tbs honey
2 heaping tbs peanut butter

ALL MIXED UP!! I'm sure these will taste good (I'm letting them chill in the fridge for 10 minutes), but they look weird as heck, and my hands got all gooey mixing them up!

I licked the spoon. YUMM.

A Day at the SRC

SRC= student rec center

and no, I did not compulsively just workout all day long. Today was day one of FIT (fitness instructor training- these guys seriously love acronyms. They need instructors for the gravity machines (GTS- gravity training systems) and classes, so that's what we were learning about today!

I knew I'd be busy all day so I put some planning into food. I made overnight oats again last night with equal parts greek yogurt, skim milk, and oats. This time I added blue berries instead of a banana. And then this morning I microwaved them to take the chill off, and added cereal for a crunch. Mmm!

before cereal

with cereal!

Oh yes, and I had two squares of dark chocolate to set the day off right, and for a little extra luck today ;)

Keeping in mind that we would be getting some physical training in today, I packed an extra hearty lunch: a big almond butter and banana sandwich. I also packed my favorite Cliff bar for a snack, but ended up eating it with lunch as well (why so hungry???).

Not sure yet what I'm having for dinner, but I'm pretty sure it'll involve an oatmeal bar!
